Newton’s face contorted from laughter into a harsh expression. “Right, right,” he said. “Maybe an explosion.”
From here the Flatirons were just far enough away that the sun sat right along the top as it made its slow ascent. Every morning it would pause there, pregnant with the day, breathing color back into the sky.

I’m going to do what I usually do when I can’t think of anything to write: write about how I can’t write.

I think what separates the professionals from the amateurs, money aside, is that when writing is a job and not a hobby, you have no excuse not to make it a priority.
I assume that I'm not the only one who has trouble organizing their thoughts or keeping too much information in their head at once.
Sometimes things flow perfectly and the scene appears magically at my fingertips, but more often than not it doesn't. When that happens, there are steps I can take to get things moving.
Yes, you have the right to own a gun, but it is our right as American citizens to take that right away from people who would abuse it. In order to do so, we need to be certain who those people are through regulation of the product of said rights, the guns. THIS IS NOT A HARD CONCEPT.
The point of this being that going back and reading my old work to find that I didn't actually hate it was a strange experience.
Plots, like timelines, have to be straightforward. But none of the best characters are.
Sociologists have identified the crux of the matter as something called the "Crisis of Masculinity" or, as I call it, the "Baby Fit That Wouldn't End."
Writer's block, the constant bane of my existence, comes in many forms, and a lot of people get stuck on small details when writing that they find they have a hard time moving past.
